PC relaxation

Hi there

Very interested to hear about your PC muscle relaxation technique.

I've been researching the relaxation of PC muscle after trying intense kegel exercises and then coming quicker with my wife, even in positions where I normally have more control.

I also read a couple of things online about kegels actually exacerbating PE and that 'reverse kegels' are better for improving stamina. Furthermore, there are some Taoist resources that encourage pushing down on the genital floor with a full inhale as well.

So to find your site detailing this method is interesting especially as my own observations indicate that it the relaxation of the PC NOT the clenching that is crucial. I would masturbate slowly and just watch my body's response and I realised that during years of masturbation I had trained myself to clench the PC muscle to speed things up and that this is now 'muscle memory' so that at the slightest hint of sexual arousal, I would start to get involuntary clenching down there.

So intuitively I figure that it is best to do the opposite - relax or maybe even push down on the the PC.

So this is a new approach for me and I look forward to hearing more about it here and suggestions on how to train in this way.

Kegels are useless for lasting longer during sex. See my post at

Reverse kegels or pushing out will also do nothing. You do a reverse kegel every time you go to the bathroom for a #2. Has that helped? No.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand about regular kegels being useless. And am glad for the clarification about reverse kegels. I had assumed that maybe pushing down might be of help to counteract the involuntary tensing and I trust your advice on this point.

It's interesting to watch through the day just how much my PC muscle involuntarily contracts. It's given me a focus to keep it relaxed in my daily activities as well of course in masturbation and sex.

I notice that at the slightest hint of arousal, like just kissing my wife or touching her in bed, the PC muscle starts to tighten.

Really? I've never heard of this. You mean, at random times, your PC muscle contracts? Is it when you think about something sexual?

Yes - at the start of arousal, there is some tensing starting - sort of a clench/release. Not tight, but as I notice the state of my PC muscle more and more, I notice how much tension is carried there. I also notice that as I stand up from a sitting position, there is a momentary clench there.

Ok yeh, automatic tensing at the start of arousal would be normal. But I wouldn't expect it when standing up from a sitting position.

Either way, you do have full voluntary control over the muscle. So if you find it tensing by itself at various times, do take notice of it as you are doing. So aim to keep it relaxed during these times.

Bongoman, hope you don't mind me adding my question here as well?  Maybe you've learned some tricks that could help me?

I have the exact same problem as you but am struggling with the relaxation bit.  I know that I have to keep my PC muscle relaxed and the little I can do it helps but I seem to find it impossible to really control as soon as I experience any sexual contact at all.  This site has proved very helpful in bringing this to my attention but I need more information.  How do you do it?

This could be caused by psychological factors - worry, stress, nervousness, anxiety performance. The key is to maintain relaxation and confidence.

Have a look at some of these posts. They're concerning erection problems but the issues of nervousness and anxiety performance are quite similar with PC muscle relaxation problems and premature ejaculation:

Thanks for the advice, it makes sense actually.  I'll go and try and report my findings back here.

Cheers Roy
