In my opinion, doing something like singing a song in your head helps.
I find that it's too much thinking and getting excited that causes premature ejaculation.
Singing a song is the same as thinking of a brick wall but it forces you to pay more attention unlike a brick wall.
It works for me =D, try it out and post back. =D

This is known as a distraction technique, there are many variations like counting backwards, thinking of sports etc.
 
However it is a purely psychological / mental technique and has no physical component. If you are on top, breathing quickly, your heart rate is high, you squeeze your PC muscle, straighten your legs and tense all the muscles in your legs and hips, no amount of song singing in your head is going to prevent orgasm.
 
Distraction techniques can reduce overall pleasure to a certain extent and thus help to delay orgasm, however the physical techniques are more effective. Such as: breathe slowly, relax all the muscles in your legs, hips and ass and relax your PC muscle.
Distraction techniques are similar in a way to meditation, but meditation techniques such as Ajna Focus are stronger and have been shown to reduce heart rate and slow the effect of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) which helps to delay orgasm.

 Hi everyone.  I would just like to share my story.  Years ago  i suffered a serious spinal injury and as a result i had to undergo a year of physio therapy, the bulk of which focused on my core stability.

This was very important so i could hold my posture correctly, anyway not long after the injury i had careful sex with my partner, and basically come the moment I entered her.... then again the second time!

When i started doing the physio I could only just tense my pc muscle and thought this IS difficult but you do get better at it, anyway after a while doing these physio excersises (eg. sit on medicine ball, hold pc muscle raise opposite leg and arm- so tricky, like patting your head and rubbing your tummy, i know)

I did think it wasnt helping me at all until I must have got used to it........ but now our sex life is awesome I can come WHEN I WANT TO which is usually AFTER my lady has had one... or two! The reason here is proof that it really is the key to strengthen your pc muscle.  I used to last seconds sometimes, now I feel much more confident, so dont give up as when you master the control of your p.c muscle its great... for both of you!

Wow first of all congrats on your physical recovery. Being able to walk again is simply a miracle, never mind going to the toilet or having sex.

That's fantastic that you have orgasm control now.

I have to ask though - when you're having sex ... in order to last longer ... what do you do with your PC muscle? Yes, now it's stronger; but to last longer, do you relax your PC muscle ... and then tense it when you want to come?

 

Hey, just to answer your question, you're absolutely right.

Relax it, and you can go on for MILES hehe, and when you want to come you simply tense your PC muscle..( if you dont know where it is located, you can tense the whole area around your butt, and penis, it will trigger the PC muscle, but to do it properly for the ever-lasting result, you relax the muscle, that you use when you stop your stream of pee. )

I sincerely know that this DOES work, because I myself was very worried. I used to only last 2 minutes if i was really lucky, and i spent loads of hours looking for techniques and even medications. And all along i thought i had to TENSE the muscles, and that of course only made me come quicker.

Yes, the whole key is to relax, even when you are on top, try to focus on using your upper body muscles to hold you up during sex.

Do that, and you'll last a lot longer :) It's true that you can controll your own orgasm, I used to think " no way, its a reaction to stimulation, I can't help it! " but of course you can, because without the muscle making it happen, it simply can't happen :)

Having said that, I doubt being able to last for as long as you want, but 10 - 20 minutes is a hell of a difference :) Hope my answer has helped you out :D
